〜Chapter II -The Tokyo Meeting〜


■ Conference Objective:

The inaugural gathering of the Architectural Regeneration Design Conference (ARDC), which focused on the Nagasaki Aquarium complex, was held in the City of Nagasaki in May 2000 .

Presently in Tokyo's Marunouchi Financial District, The Yusen Building, The Bank Association (Ginko Kyoukai) Building, The Marubiru, and now the Kogyou Kurabu Building is being dismantled. Series of popular apartment buildings, known as the Dojyunkai Apartments, are mostly gone, leaving the Edogawa Apartments as the sole survivor of the demolition derby.

Architectural Regeneration Design Conference/Chapter II: the Tokyo Conference will be held at the Waseda University's Okuma Auditorium (circa 1927).
Discussion will focus on the fate of endangered stock of historically valuable modern buildings, built since the beginning of the Meiji Period.
